Purpose of the application

Unlike traditional elite high schools and colleges, we signal student qualifications to colleges and future employers through our high standards in our courses instead of through very low admissions rates. The purpose of the application is not to reduce the application pool down to some limited number of students, but instead to give students the opportunity to demonstrate that they are a good fit for our school. We realize it can be hard to fairly evaluate students based on a single application, so we err on the side of accepting students who have an earnest interest in the school, even if they do not fit all of our criteria. This gives students the opportunity to prove themselves in class, which is a much better indicator of future success. Students who fail to meet our standards in the classroom will have their admission revoked, but will be welcome to reapply if and when they think they are ready for another chance.

Timeline

We review applications on a rolling basis, so you can submit your application at any time. We will get back to you with a decision within a week of receiving the application. Note that you will not be able to enroll in any courses until we have reviewed your application and admitted you to our school.

Steps
